Megan Elizabeth Lynn McDonald and Austin Clay Broadfoot were married June 15, 2019 at 5:30 in the afternoon at Killen Church of Christ with Bill Speight, great-uncle of the bride, officiating. A reception was held at Danclay Farms following the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Brian and Stacy McDonald of Killen. She is the granddaughter of Doyle and Linda McDonald of Killen, and Eddy McAlister and the late Susan McAlister of Charlotte, N.C.
The groom is the son of Kevin and Amy Broadfoot of Killen. He is the grandson of Jack and Martha Broadfoot and Gerald and Shirley Swicegood, all of Florence.
The bride was escorted by her father. She wore a fitted lace gown with scattered beading with a sweetheart neckline and beaded straps, along with a garter that was worn by her mother at her wedding. Her jewelry featured drop pearl earrings that belonged to her grandmother and a pearl necklace given to her by her father. Her “something blue” was a blue topaz ring that belonged to her mother that she wore on her bouquet of white and peach roses.
Maid of honor was Mary Lindsay Lovelace, best friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Caitlyn Baker, Summer Ezzell, Jessica Peeples, Sarah Elizabeth Sherrod, Haley Thomas, Allie Whitaker, all friends of the bride; Lauren Broadfoot, sister of the groom; and Mckenzi Ellis, cousin of the bride. Flower girls were Nora Broadfoot, cousin of the groom, and Ashley Lambert, a student of the bride.
Best man was Kevin Broadfoot, father of the groom. Groomsmen were Tyler Broadfoot, brother of the groom; Nathan McDonald and Eli McDonald, brothers of the bride; Skyler Beck, Mason Castille, Logan Ezzell, Austin Martindale, Joe McIlwain, Justin Nelson, and Tucker Norwood, all friends of the groom. Ring bearer was Mikey Spearman, cousin of the bride.
Wedding director was Terri Brown of Kiss the Bride. Floral designer was Amanda Gooch. Caterer was Jill’s Sweet Memories, who also made the wedding cake and apple pie and banana pudding for the groom’s table. Entertaining guests at the reception was DJ Grayson Brown. Hair stylist was Kyla Warden and make-up artist was DeAnna Putman, both of Textu¨r. Photographer was Heather Sherrill of Create Portraiture.
A bridesmaids brunch was given by the bride’s two great-aunts at The Factory Cafe. Attendants Included Westyn and Paxton Newell, former students of the bride, and Madi Norwood, friend of the bride and groom. The arch used in the ceremony was made by the groom’s father. Wedding favors were small jars of delicious strawberry jam made by That’s My Jam.
For their honeymoon the couple stayed at La Toc, a Sandals all-inclusive resort in St. Lucia. They’re now residing in Smiths Station, Ala.
