George and Kathy Silvestri of Decatur, Ala. are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Mary Shannon Silvestri, to Brandon Richard Marshall, son of Phil and Anne Marshall of Tulsa, Okla., formerly of Decatur, Ala.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Lee and Carolyn Smothers of Decatur, and Robert and Connie Forester of LaFayette, Ga.

Miss Silvestri is a 2013 graduate of Decatur High School and a 2017 graduate of Auburn University with a Bachelor of Industrial Design degree in Industrial Design. She is currently employed as a retail display designer for Hallmark in Kansas City, Mo.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Marjorie Westbay and the late Richard Westbay of Colorado Springs, Colo., William and Laurie Marshall of Cotopaxi, Colo., and Ms. Pauline Marshall of Georgetown, Colo.

Mr. Marshall is a 2011 graduate of Austin High School and a 2016 graduate of Auburn University with a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering degree in Chemical Engineering and a minor in Business Engineering Technology. He is currently employed as an engineer at ONE Gas in Overland Park, Kan.

Wedding vows will be exchanged May 12, 2018 in Kansas City, Mo. with Mr. Jim Hays, Jr. officiating. A reception will follow at The Berg in Kansas City, Mo.
