Charles and Betty Chen of Decatur are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. They met during elementary school and were married on March 30, 1968 in Keelung, Taiwan. Shortly after they were married, they immigrated to the United States and moved to Decatur, Ala. in 1986. Charles is a retired engineer from Monsanto and Betty worked part-time while raising their children. They are members of Huntsville Chinese Christian Church.

During their 50 years of marriage they have been blessed with two sons: Dennis, and wife Sheng, of Nashville, Tenn., and David, and wife Lynn of Tulsa, Okla. They also have five grandchildren and another one on the way.

Congratulations and thank you for the wonderful example of love and commitment you have shown our family!
